| Cache Copy | The incident was sparked at 10:05 a.m. when a 1996 International crane truck, driven by John Russell Squier, 22 of Splendora, Texas struck the traffic light cables as he drove eastbound through the intersection of N. Friendswood Drive and W. Edgewood, a major intersection. The crane had apparently not been properly secured and the boom was raised as it moved down the roadway, causing it to strike the cables. |
Three people were hurt in an accident at a construction site at 879 Blossom Hill Road in the Westfield Shopping Town-Oakridge Mall Thursday morning. A large crane struck a 25- to 30-foot steel vertical beam (estimated at 2,500 pounds), knocking it over onto a metal shed. The beam hit two foremen and a construction worker. The three were taken to Valley Medical Center. |
