Vandals who toppled a 50-ton crane into the River Liffey brought Dublin city centre traffic to a standstill yesterday.

The crane operator, Larry Boxdorfer, escaped without injury. Boxdorfer is a crane operator for Robinson Construction Co. of Perryville, Missouri.

This is the 32nd (AVOIDABLE!) incident reported to this site this year in which power lines were involved. Again, all were avoidable. Just don't work equipment near energized power lines.

A pregnant woman was killed along with her mother-in-law, daughter and the unborn baby when a crane crashed into the car they were travelling in yesterday.

See photo of what was left of the ill-fated car after the crane crashed into it killing three of the occupants and seriously injuring the other four.
