Gin Pole Lift

St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, July 13, 1974

Please excuse the poor quality photo. Like me, it's been around awhile.

Before all of the high capacity cranes (over 300 tons) existed, we used to make the heavy lifts with Gin Poles.

Contractor: Litwin Corporation
Project: Hess Oil Refinery expansion

Master Mechanic: Doyle Peeks

Assistant Master Mechanic: Orville Liburd
9/29/99: Orville called me today from Nevis. It was the first time I've heard from him since 1974. Orville is one of the best crane men I've been previlidged to know. Thanks for the call Orville, you made my day.
